    Hope U Get Yours Soon

Thanks! I empathize with you, my friend. The weather in suburban Philly has been rainy the past 2 days, but Sat and Sun are lookin' mighty good! Here's hoping you get your 6 very soon and that sunny days are headed your way! It's worth the wait -- you're gonna love it. Make sure your sales guy does a good job of going over everything with you (this was my first convertible, so forgive my lack of familiarity with softops). Mine did a fabulous job of explaining everything (at West German BMW, just north of Philly), including how you can get all the windows to go down when you put the top down, programming the key fob and other preferences vis iDrive, etc . . . . Might seem basic, but that was a big deal for me.

Congratulations! Happy to hear that it is...

    everything that you expected.
My dealer still has not gotten my car. As I was writing this my sales rep called to tell me that he thinks it will be at the dealership tomorrow or Monday, which means I can't get it until they install the protective film and register the car, which may be Tuesday or Wed.
Perhaps the weather this weekend in NJ will be top-down. Enjoy the ride!

    It's Mine!

OK, the car arrived at the dealer last Saturday afternoon, was prepped on Monday, and I did take delivery on Tuesday evening, 6-6-06 (to hell with superstitions). The car is gorgeous, and drives amazingly well. Not that my old 745i was a poor handler (among the big sedans, it's probably the best one out there), but the 6 is MUCH more sporty and fun than the 7, as it should. I've never owned a convertible before, so I had fun with that yesterday while I could (rain is forecasted today along the mid-atlantic).

Thanks to all who contribute to this forum for your input, as I have you to thank, too, for helping me make this great choice.

    Closer Still for Me!

Just learned my car is at the dealer in Fort Washington, PA (just north of Philly)! Don't want to rush things, and don't want to take delivery on 6-6-06 (me? superstitious? ha!), so I'm picking it up on Wed., June 7 in the afternoon. Rain or shine. Will try to post a photo, but I know that you all know what it looks like, anyway. Andrew, I have to think your car will get to the Boston area sooner than what they promised you. It isn't THAT long of a trip. Maybe June 9??? Keep askin' them . . . .

I can relate. My car was on the same boat...

Dealer told me on Saturday to expect the car on June 15. it was at the VDC on Friday or Saturday and the BMWNA website was updated by Sunday with the correct status. I am not sure what they do beyond the "bumper-to-bumper" inspection mentioned on the BMW website. My dealer is in Boston and large, so my guess is that they receive an entire truckload of new cars. The drive from NJ cannot be more than 6 hours, so it is not at all clear why it will take 13 days to get the car ready for delivery to me. BTW, my GF's Carrera 4S was on the same boat and offloaded yesterday. they told her on Friday that she would get it sometime this week.

    It's Getting Closer

Well, my 2006 650i Convertible made it safely across the Atlantic to the Port of New York on June 2 where it now resides at BMW's VPC area. If we can just get the machine onto a carrier, it can be at my dealer within hours (dealer is just north of Philly). Am hopeful that I'll have it in my hands this week, assuming that there are no problems at the VPC.
