Amazing! sold my e36 M3 sedan (techno violet) about a year and a half ago and bought a low mi. 2000 M5 (avus blue). The M5 is a great car! Congrats!

There's one on ebay for $31k (70k on it)

Only available the first year I believe. One of the nicest colors (also on early E36-M3) and not sure why BMW ever dropped it. Makes me miss my '03.

2005.5 S4

Both VERY different cars even though they're both german V8's sport sedans.

M5 is much more unrefined and brutish.
S4 actually feels like it has more finesse and is much smoother.

Both are very fun to drive but I think the M5 is faster even w/ the S4 mods...

Early '00 M5's...Oil consumption>

Thats is the color I would pic as well,

and that is a great price. It isn't even broke in. And it looks soooo good compared to the new M5. Have fun with it.

Regular e39 series rubber mats.

I bought mine from the dealer with the 10% BMWCCA discount. They have two styles. I think they were around $80 for the set of 4. I probably could have got them cheaper, but it was convenient at the dealer. I just put the M5 mats in when I'm taking others out. For the everyday driving, it's the rubber ones.

Very difficult to put a value since there are not really many comparable cars in the market... I was actually looking for a 2003 when I saw this one...

Anyway, right now there only 10 e39 M5's on auto trader nationwide with less than 15k for all model years... Ave price is $56k... So I think I got a smoking deal... Plus, because it was a private party sale in GA, I paid no sales tax... Also it was one of the colors I was looking for and local...

And after meeting the seller, I had a very high comfort level that the car was 100% as advertised... A true car enthusiast... Heck, he even called me this week to check up on the car... A real class act.

Not sure if it was custom ordered, or maybe they offered avus in 2000 and Lemans in 2001+...

It is definitely simillar to Lemans... Be interesting to do a side by side comparison sometime...

Great color combination. I have the same interior on my Titanium Silver M5. I did buy some rubber floor mats for everday commuting to save my M5 set.

Hard to say from a photo, but it looks the same as LeMans/Silverstone. What's the sticker on the shock tower say?
