strut brace on center support bracket needed...

to be tightened. So far so good. Noise sounded like it was coming from the roof but must have been echoed. Great service at Ferman BMW FL.

I know exactly the advise you're talking about....

I remember their hilarious program suggesting that the caller simply cover the "red engine" light with black electrical tape and "FORGET ABOUT IT...." LOVE IT!

...fix for roof noise on the coupe?

When the dealer told me they had to take the roof apart to get at the problem, he succeeded in discouraging me from pursuing it any further. I would expect it in a Pontiac. It is a pisser, but this way, I know it's mine.

Glad to hear that apparently they have it resolved in the new car.

Ah yes, sage advice from the tappet brothers:)

Following their advice is often a wise course of action. Would take a lot of black tape to cover up some of the iDrive messages, however

    That's what Click & Clack would've suggested.....

...and I think you're right. I'm actually getting used to it so it doesn't bother me as much as it did when it first started about a year after I took delivery. But I'm going to follow Cobradav recommendation and take it in to the dealer. It'd be nice to have it sound as solid as it did when it was brand new. I'll keep you all posted.

Re: Current fix for roof noise on the coupe?

Its the "cassette" thats misaligned on the sun roof... basically the tracks. Take it in. If they want to replace your WHOLE sunroof its normally not necessary... its just the cassette (thats BMWs term). Similar issues on e60s and e63s

Current fix for "roof noise" on the coupe?

My Sept.'04 produced coupe is sadly making popping noises whenever it goes over bumps or in situations where the body frame gets stressed or is tweaked. I've read the old posts regarding various fixes. What's the current wisdom on this issue?
