    There should be two wires and to top of the pump. Get a test light or piece of wire and hook it to ground and touch one of the connections. Can't remember which one is which but trial and error you will hear release valve or pump will come on. Have ignition on BTM. I have done this several time and have not had anything blow up.

    this thread is making up my mind to ditch the SLS

    I've stuck with it for awhile, but now that the car is running very nicely, I don't want to fuss continually with the SLS while my ride quality stinks. I think it is time for the mtechs.

    I still have an issue with my sls .. so maybe i

    need to stand next in line for that offer.

    My car has new struts, new hoses, and new bombs. the pump is good and works fine.

    I have researched everything and checked out everything I can about how the system works but it still does something wrong.

    the car will pump up or lower to the correct level, and sit there if it is unloaded. I can adjust the actual unloaded level by moving the switch arm on the rear sway bar.
    the ride is nice. and well controlled.
    If I load up the car with people or cargo, then the car lowers naturally and the system kicks in and pumps it up.
    then it stops and rests for 10 seconds, and then decides it is too high and lowers by a small amount, again the system stops at a slightly lower position.
    10 secs later it feels it is too low and pumps up a small amout and stops again.

    this continues forever as long as the car is stoped on level ground.
    ( there are mercury switches inside the level sensor that stop all movement when the car is moving, or braking )

    The car just cant find the same exact level as when it is unloaded.

    Steve H originally suggested that the problem was the Bombs and I got new ones from him. but it made no difference. I suspect my level switch and would like to try another one.

    * Steve H - are u out there? .. I would like some guidance on this if you have any idea what to do next.

    The SLS switch is $1100 at the dealer !

    I have an old switch that I can give you..., but the case was broken when i got the car, tried gluing it back together and worked for a couple years. Then I replaced it with one from Steve H.

    Again.., if you want to try to use my old one it's all yours.... No Charge.

    well you need to diagnose the problem fully..
    you can go under the spare wheel. and under the plastic cover for the pump and disconnect the motor. that will stop it from pumping higher..
    then you need to lower the car to the proper level.
    I forget the exact wire but you need to activate the pressure drain valve for the car to coem down.

    if you can get the car lowered to the mid point of its adjustment then you see if it rides well.

    the switch itself is fairly complicated and also expensive. I would not replace it unless you are certain it is not working..

    that is from the pump running until it trips the

    pressure switch.
    the level sensor should kick off the pump before it goes rock hard. the pressure switch is there as a safety device so it does not self destruct.

    SLS is rock hard and unresponsive to linkage input

    It is all the way up and rock hard. Um, that doesn't sound too proper, but you know what I mean. I have been tinkering with it for a long time and do love the dinan springs with it...but unless you or anyone else has a simple idea to fix it, it has got to go. Nothing on it is original except the shocks themselves. I have replaced all other parts.
    BTW-- are you anywhere near SanDiego? I might have a crazy auto purchase in that area that would put me firmly on the DARK SIDE.

    yet another suspension question

    Hello all -- I am finally going to give up on my SLS soon. I currently have the dinan front and rear (specific SLS springs) on the car and like them, but something is wrong with the rear. So I also have a set of Mtech springs set up with bilstien sports. I am going to keep the dinans and bilstien sports up front for now and replace the SLS with the Mtech/sport set up.
    Does anyone have any advice as to which notch on the rear sport shock I should set the perch at. I do have bigger tires on 17 inch rims (I ll have to get the tire dims later if relevant).
