Thanks. I'd be interested in how they look too. I'm concerned that with the lower profile, the gap between the tire and the fender lip will look too big.

I have 185-70-R13 on my turbo rims right now.

I have not put them on the car but they should be good.
The rims and tires that I have on the car are 175-70-r13. Not much of a differenced. I will have them put on the car this weekend. I will let you know.

You can go lower profile on the tire but the speedo will be off. What size tire do you want to run.

Tire size and clear coat questions

I picked up a set of the same wheels for my '76. I had them glass beaded and they look great. I bought a set of lugs from Bavarian Autoworks with the correct taper (Part number 36 13 1 113 132, $2.95 each).
Two Questions: Can you run a lower profile tire on these wheels without a problem; and Would you shoot these with clear coat to protect them after the glass beading--or run them raw?

My mistake. You are right. Now to find some

inexspensive lugs for the car.

E28s use bolts not nuts.

They are the same nuts as the E28 nuts.

Going to check it out this weekend.

The original 02 lug nuts for steel wheels have a different chamfer/angle where they meet the wheel. They will chew up the alloy wheel when you tighten them up, and could be unsafe. BMW made lug nuts with a steeper (I think) angle to suit the alloy wheels.

This is what is on there now. Are these nuts

useable with the new rims? I would thing they would be.

1 of them was replaced and is real long.

This 1 will have to be removed. Was just couriuos. Since this is not the case with these hubs they will stay. And yes I pulled these from an e21.

Not sure why you would want to change the fixing mode. The wheels look like E21 "turbines" and will fit fine with the studs. Just get the correct angled alloy wheel lug nuts.

I got these today for $100. I am going to put them on but want to remove the studs. Is this posible with these cars. Oh its a 1969 1600. I would like to use regular type lug bolt.
