    yes will work fine

    the only difference you will have is the normal eta pistons.
    You will have to change the wiring harness, cylinder head, and other goodies that the super eta already had. Its just CONVENIENT to have a super eta, but not even a big deal.
    Everything is easy to do and the m20 is too easy to not know how to work on, i built my first motor knowing only torque and clearance specs.

    I use the early 528e flywheels because they are half the weight of the dual mass 528e flywheel.

    To do it RIGHT you are looking at a 1000 dollar minimum depending on if you are getting it machined or not, its a little more expensive than people think but worth it in my opinion.

    There are no valves in that cylinder head; must make great compression!

    3/87 to 12/87 super eta bottom end
    the entire 325i top end
    use the single mass 325i flywheel and clutch assembly
    obviously you need all the sensors but there is hardly any sensors to begin with.
    tranny will bolt right up since all m20s use the same bellhousing pattern.
    I have every single part for this conversion if you are interested.

    I use the 272 billet camshaft with half a millimeter more lift since its a bit more peppier than the 325i cam.

    m20 2.7 upgrade questions


    heres my question:

    I've heard that you can take a
    2.7L 528 (?eta?) bottom end and
    put a 325is head/injection/ecu/etc.
    together and get a serious hotrod
    of a motor..

    Is this conversion just that simple?
    If I get an 87-88 325is topend and
    get a same year 528 shortblock, can I
    put these together or is there some
    machining to be done?

    Will my 87-88 donor 325is trans bolt up
    to a 528 bottom, or do I have to use a
    5 series trans?
