    I think you missed the smiley in my first post. I wasn't completely serious.

    However, I don't understand the mentality that results in treating these cars like they are Faberge eggs. Looking at them is nice, but their beauty truly shines when they are driven. A car that is hardly driven is like a bird in a cage.

    40k on my 2001's my daily driver, so I rack 'em up. Is that insane to have it as my D.D.? Since I drive for a living, I might as well drive a fun car :) When I got it last year - it only had 19k. Now - not so much.

    thats sort of both, but overall 18,000 is like a 5 month span of my prior annnual daily driving usage on a car.

    No worries...

    This was a new item. The clutch & starter have been perfect. Phil and the guys did us right.

    The high-amperage lead, going to the ignition control module just corroded and split. Will be an easy fix, as soon as I have the time to run the lead from the battery to the module. It might have had something to do with the salt air.

    The funny thing about that road trip, was the weather on Monday (30s & freezing rain) compared to Tuesday (104 & OMG HOT) when driving across Kansas. Two crazy extremes < 24 hours & 150 miles appart.

    That's a big assumption ...

    because those 18K miles could be primarily track use, high miles doesn't mean quality usage. I could put 90k miles on a coupe driving as a daily commuter in bumper to bumper traffic, if anything, I'd call that abuse. Perspective ;).

    Quality vs. quantity

    With three cars, the miles get spread out, to say the least. I save my Ultimate Driving Machine for my Ultimate Drives.

    I'm going to introduce a new equation. SEG/M=UDQ. I'd wager my Sh1t Eating Grins per Mile would yield a higer Ultimate Driving Quotient than any other Couper out there. Well, short of you track rats maybe......

    Snow in July - gotta love CO!

    It can literally snow on any day of the year in a lot of places here. Some might thinks we're nuts, but that's one of the things we love about this place. That's also one of the reasons you don't see a high percentage of convertibles here. At least not ones with no roof whatsoever.

    Bummer about the Cobra. Was it related to the initial problems we had when you first got it? Thought they fixed it up right. I guess it's true what they say FORD stands for ;-)

    It gets love. The actual miles are bit

    higher, since the tail is usually out, making a wider arc through the corners. Silly hero slides!!! Looked like fun, but I was too busy coveting your roof & heater to emulate the moves in the Cobra. Damn ice storms in July.

    BTW: Was stranded in the Cobra, officially, yesterday. First time! High amperage lead into the ignition module corroded & broke loose. Had to pull a Mcgyver (sp?) & rig it with electrical tape for ONE start only.
