talking about the top strut mount nut.It is very possible.I've had it happen before too.

Happens all the time.

My Left Boge insert was making clicking sounds

before I replaced it. Boge was the original insert; when I pull it out it was already separated into two parts and oil rushed out to the surrounding.Patrick C 88 750 159K

Shields and covers can make similar noise. Or canisters under the hood.

have you tried pulling up the dust boot and tightening the strut tube nut at the top? Use a pipe wrench.

hello there,,,,still have this rattleing noise from my drivers side front strut,,,,,,,could it be the shocker itself rattleing,becuase the car has gone thru a M. O. T. monday and all the upper and lower arms are ok ,anybody have any suggestions to wat it might be,,,,,,,,, RALPHIE ,,,{ the noise is driving me mad }
