18-20 is a double race at Laguna Seca. I'll be there if I can fix the cooling problems. Otherwise ... I don't know! Maybe. But good luck with the race!--

Re:Great repairing... but on the overheating

I was given a "BULLETIN/WARNING" that stated that the waterpump bolts are prone to cracking and that this can lead to overheating and loss of fluid.

I received this BULLETIN-WARNING by computer while gettting my annual Mass. State Inspection sticker.

I received no feedback on it from this site when I posted this detail back in February.

But it is my belief that my car may infact have cracked bolts ...and that they may be only to a small degree be cracked....only enough to allow air to air into my system.

Why I say "air-in-the system" is because in the winter, the heater as a rule does not blow out hot air..its cool air. But when I top off the resevior with maybe a cup of fluid the heater works fine.

The problem is in only a couple of days its back to blowing cool air again and so I have to top off the res. again and this is getting to be my routine.

conclusion... air in the system and a small enough fluid leak that it disapates so it leaves no trace of a leak.

this (subtle) air in the system could cause you an overheating problem

    keep me posted

i know it's a haul coming up here but consider ORP also. we have a 2-day event left this year, 27th and 28th - lots of tracktime for test and tune! :) next year we have 6 dates planned so far, may add more.

Not this year, that's for sure

I'd love to make the NW swing again and do some weekends at PIR and PR like I did for a few years there ... those were great races. I can see coming up for the Rose Cup again at some point. Next year? Don't know yet ... but I'll let you know!--

    Race car reborn

So I wrecked the Coupe earlier this summer:

But Pro Auto Body in San Jose and Edge Motorworks in Dublin combined to help me get this car back on the track. Made it to Infineon this weekend and although something still isn't right (engine seems slightly down on power, and it overheats on the cool-down lap after each session, requiring a gallon or so of water to top it off, not good), at least it looks great!
