How hard of a DIY job is this anyway??????
Re: Maybe he didn't bleed it good enough. Its been over a month and as of today, a little over a month later, floating stick has remained in same place it has been since 2 days after valley pan fixed and I have not had to add a drop of water. Happy New Year.

Re: Maybe he didn't bleed it good enough. Roy, Now Monday afternoon and first thing this morning checked level and stick was where it was Sunday morning. I did some driving, not a lot on Sunday. I went to http://www.southbayeurocar.com/ and showed owner and Mark my marked bottle of water and told them I was please with worked. And no stop leak!
Maybe he didn't bleed it good enough.
Re: No stopeak! You need to really find the leak. Pull I marked a 32 oz container of water 4 times at 8oz marks. Saturday morning day after valley pan gasket surgery I had to add 8oz. Sunday morning I added add 4-6 oz. If I have to add more than a shot glass or water Monday morning I'll go back to mechanic and asks what's up with this.

No stopeak! You need to really find the leak. Pull the belly pan cover off so you can see where the leak is coming from. That is a lot of coolant to lose and not know where it comes from. Pressure test the radiator. Do you see white powder splashes under there. Dried antifreeze. Use Zerex G-05 as it's Ok and cheaper. Ask on the other board bim merboard dot com. Also check on e38.org

Valley Pan Approximately 90 days ago I had run out of a 1 gallon blue radiator fluid and purchased a another gallon. Monday of this week, engine coolant warning light came on and I added about half quart. Tuesday morning, two days before Thanksgiving 2009 warning light came on again so I added another half quart or so Wednesday morning. Thanksgiving day, yesterday morning I checked fluid and it was down again so I added another half quart to get stick up. Drove about 30 miles for TG dinner and getting into car after dinner for drive home engine light came on saying low on coolant. Taking a chance and "hoping" I drove 30 miles back home without engine temperature gauge thankfully moving off middle. This morning checked fluid and it was low and added another remaining gallon I purchased back in September and drove to BMW repair. I'm here in South Bay area of Los Angeles. It was determined I needed a coolant valley pan. Not cheap. Labor 468, parts 366.59 and tax of 35. most expensive portion of parts was intake manifold cover, intake manifold gasket times 4 and a valley pan gasket. Could I have purchased a can of Stopleak? I will check coolant stick tomorrow, Sunday and Monday and of it is about same then it was Coolant Valley Pan? 61000 on Odometer
