FWIW the Sumitomo HTR ZIII rated highly in a Tire Rack comparison test. I've had mine for a year and have no real complaints - especially in light of the price. Of course I've maybe put 5K miles on them. There's more responsive, higher-performance tires, but in terms of low noise, wear, at this price point they get my personal recommendation. The noise in particular has always been an issue with similarly priced tires from Kumho, etc.

I got cheapies and used my 17" wheels this time around. I got Summitomo HTR ZIII (245/45 all around). They've held up well, good in the wet, no noise issues. Bite is not as immediate as my 18's were with bridgestone RE040, and sidewall look isn't particularly clean (if you GAF about that). I'd get another set probably except that I'll likely go back to my 18's. @ $100/ea they're unbeatable. If you want to spend a bit more, look at the Eagle F1 GSD3.

It's tire time for me. Any suggestions ? My 3 season tires are bald. They are the original model dunlops that came with the car and I liked them. I am open to reasonably priced replacements My sport pack wears 225/45 17's I have read good things about Kumho Ecsta's What do you have and how do you like them??
