You Are Probably Right However, I've been monitoring this board for many years and being the original owner of this car since day one. I haven't seen really any issues regards to the heater hoses. So I'm wondering, may be I'll just put that off for now and wait until I bring the car in for some other major repair and have the heater hoses done then. In the meantime, this fall I am planning on replacing the radiator hoses.

Find a good independent shop The dealer will rape you in dollars. These cars are old now and there are plenty of good independent shops out there that have the experience to do a good job. They’ll charge you less in labor and if you find a good one like I have he’s got good deals on parts from shops in the area. If you’re not hung up on OEM parts look elsewhere.

Looks Very Complicated I think I'm going to have BMW do the heater hoses for me...Thanks Gary NJ

Re: I replaced them when I install a DASC. Does the entire intake manifold have to come off or just the top half? Also, you mention some plastic elbow(s) could you refer me to a diagram? Thanks Gary NJ
Re: I replaced them when I install a DASC.
I replaced them when I install a DASC. It will be much easier if the manifold is off. Also DO NOT forget some of the plastic elbows that are on the back of the head. This is not a difficult job but very time consuming. Fred 96 1.9 Z3 black/tan/black 97 M3/4 estoril/gray 08 Kubota 3400 HST orange/charcoal 08 GMC Sierra stealth gray/gray

Hasn't Anybody Changed the Heater Hoses? Any help would be appreciated...Thanks Gary NJ

Heater Hose Replacement I'm the original owner of my 96 Z3 with 52,000 miles and I'm thinking of replacing the cooling hoses. I was looking at the realoem diagrams and obviously the heater hoses seem to go under the intake manifold. Has anybody tried replacing these hoses (and which ones (please use the hose number from realoem))? I did some searches and saw somebody said that the upper intake manifold will need to be removed. Anyway, any suggestions as to which hoses need to be replaced and how to I get to them? By the way, my water pump was already replaced last year. Thanks GaryNJ
