The 28 pin was for the change over year of 88 but was used in the old M30 engine as well. The chip will work in either...rather...I have both ECUs and both have the same chip upgrade. Hope that answers the question.

261 200 059 ECU Shopping Questions Anyone have info on the primary differences between the 24 and 28 pin versions (aside from 4 pins) of the 261 200 059 ECU?
