HUGE difference! Butt dyno tells me so

much quieter, better response. I'm also not losing oil any more. Was losing about a quart a month, so your fix would have paid for itself in no time anyway. It's not bogging down either and there is a lot more everything everywhere (it's an industry term).

We also swapped out the vanos solenoid ($185 was the best price and it was from Max) because the old one checked out dead.

Giznas also found the crank sensor wasn't working so I'll get a new one of those ($45 ish) when I get around to it.

There's still that 800 pound gorilla in the corner (subframe) that I've got to deal with very, very soon, so I won't drive it like I stole it quite yet.

Kudos to you for staying on this issue. It's a big one and one that most of our cars probably suffer from. Grazie!!!

Thanks ZDave: I got the package

You didn't have to insure it, but thanks anyway: it got here safe. You were mentioning your VANOS had a lot of play. But that how BMW made them originally!!!!!

Anyway: what you think? Did it worked out good? Any feedback?
