Re: GForce Performance Chip Kit for the BMW Z3 ....... Thanks for the offer. I have looked at the one you are talking about, I have booked marked ready to go. Now if I can have my colleged kids be more responsbile with their money I'd have more for the mod I want to do. :)
Re: GForce Performance Chip Kit for the BMW Z3 .......
Re: Fess up....... Indicated 110 so I suppose about 100 or so.
Re: Fess up.......
upper 120's at least once a lap... I usually apply the brakes hard right after I get going that fast, but not always.

Re: GForce Performance Chip Kit for the BMW Z3 ....... If it requires installing a chip, then it is twentieth century technology, probably to be avoided. I suggest you just get the Conforti shark engine management software upgrade. Great performance boost, and it really IS simple to put in place. If you want lots more specific details, just drop me an email. I've sharked several of my own Z3 line cars, and helped do it for several others. Results are more than good.
GForce Performance Chip Kit for the BMW Z3 ....... Speaking of speed, has anyone used this chip? They claim an easy installation. They also claim a significant boost, is it true?

Often over 100; but, didn't want to push it too much because you can't be sure about the tires. If one would blow out at high speed it could be VERY bad. Also, I used to do it on my way back from lunch going over a long bridge (Rt 5 skyway over ship canals in Buffalo). Divided highway with no cross traffic, places for cops to hide with radar and good sight lines to check for cops (and no place for them to turn around). Expansion joints were scarry and would never pass slower traffic I would come up on, just didn't trust them to stay in their lane.
Often over 100; but,
got close to 100 ...before chickening out. Not afraid of the car but of the road. Seemed like it could easily have done more. 2000 Z3 2.8 manual stock
got close to 100
And subtract 7% for the built in difference from actual, and you're at 115. Had my Saab SUV up to that coming thru NV this spring.
And subtract 7%

Does a picture with three of the finest are proof enough that you were going a bit too fast over the speed limit?
Does a picture with three of the finest are
130, on a local county road... No traffic, of course. I reached an intersection stop sign, and around the corner comes a state trooper; whew! Did the same thing several times in my MINI (130-135) without getting nabbed. They finally got me one day last Fall; a female deputy in a (practically unmarked) SUV came over a rise and nailed me at 89, on my way up to maybe 130 or so. After she finished writing the ticket, I thanked her for not coming along a few seconds later. :-)

Re: Fess up....... 135mph indicated, eastern Nebraska. Rock solid, maybe had 5-10mph left.
126 according to the DeLorme on the dash Top down, late at night, deserted 4-lane highway with median wall, ~2 miles visibility both directions, bugs in teeth :-) Ran out of road before I ran out of throttle. 2000 2.3 roadster, pretty much stock except for Bilsteins front & rear. Kumho Ecstas on the pavement.

I refuse to answer on the grounds that I might.... ... but my speedo is off by 6 mph according to my GPS (which also has a speedo). But coming down the long hill on I-15 from Utah to Nevada (heading to 10YOC), I was ahead of Buddy and Mary..... I'd keep playing! I don't think the heavy stuff will be coming down for quite a while! z3RIFFRAFF ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
