'slippery' surface
DSC works... on a slipper surface I can feel the system engage and as has always been the case, the indicator light 'flashes'. I simply cannot disengage the system by pushing the button. When the system is disengaged the light is on steadily but that is the problem I'm having.

Button failure or connection failure The DCS operation from memory is the same as the ASTC (Anti Skid Traction Control). When the system is on the dash light is off, which is the default when turning the car on. When the ASTC system works to intervene skid or traction the dash light flashes quickly when the system is intervening. When I press the ASTC button the dash light comes on permanently to indicate the system is off/disabled (reverse logic stuff, but probably necessary with only one light) and I can spin the wheels and skid to test that the system is off. My idea is if your car is not turning the DSC off, but the light is on then there must be a problem in the controller, if the light is not on permanently then there is probably a problem with the switch or connection to it and the DCS is not getting the signal to turn off.

A simple, single push in the past has always engaged or disengaged the function. I searched the archives prior to posting but didn't turn up anything...

Most likely culprit for... DSC not DISengaging. Light on dash 'flashes' when DSC is working but pushing the button does not turn off stability control. Any ideas? Greg 2000 528
