yah these cars are not made for hole shots

all my "hard" driving is done after i get the car out of 1st or 2nd gear. i have the e30 for my autocross driving and launching
e39's are like high speed trains, hard to get moving but once it is its like a rocket!

Will you still be in Plymouth on Dec 15th? (m)

I'm free that night, my better half has a work related function and I'm not really the cooking type if it doesn't involve the BBQ grille.
If your around I can meet you at BBW. (no real food at the Z...from what I've been told).

    EXACTLY!

i wait till im in the perfect spot of the motors power band and gear and RAPE them. i dont bother playing catch up if they do the ricer flyby after getting beat.

I had a witness with me one time to attest to this. those cars got nothing on a 540 with an open road

    I've run 3 different ones

No hole shots, just 3rd gear and up. WALKED them every time. All 3 of them got so pissed... They have to rev up REALLY high with those motors to match our torque.
i would be pissed too if an 11 year old car blew the doors off my new car.

    Same thing crossed my mind...

I also think the guy in the G didn't really know how to drive, it's the only thing that makes sense...that car out guns me in the HP department by 100 horse.

Btw, thanks guys! I was starting to think I was gonna get flamed for this, but just as you guys said...I would never do something like that in a congested area.

Many of us have been "engaging" in this type

of activity all our driving lives. Yeah I don't engage in congested areas or roads with side connecting roads as that is an accident waiting to happen. But hey on a deserted stretch of freeway, with the road clear ahead and 2 willing participants, why not. It's kind of a long hidden urge or form of release.

I don't do it as much as I used to but sometimes it's just necessary.

I agree, The G35 and G37 are favorite casualties

They make a decent showing up until you hit 100, 120, 130 and by then they have faded. They are quick cars but so far my stock 540 has won several battles with the G35 and G37 coupe.

I guess I am simply a superior driver than all those different drivers...............NOT, well maybe. I do understand where my 540 is super strong, what gear, what RPM, and I admit I draw them into that range and take advantage of any supoerior quality (usually torque I think) and any disadvantage the G has (usually the driver thinks he or she is superior).

The G37 is more a sports car in either 2 door or 4 door than the Maxima.

I am blessed with a woderful stretch of road along my travels to school and with perfect timing, the right person comes along at the right time on this basically deserted highway.

My 540 has absolutely no performance enhancements unless you count the tricky old bastard in the drivers seat.

So yeah, if you are ready to part out your car let me know!

I wonder if it has tall diff ratio and lack of low

end torque. Since I've switched to 3.15 from 2.81, car is a monster form 0-100mph.

Not a problem, my sister lives in Sandwich (m)

I'll have her start looking, LOL. We flew down, the V70 is parked at Logan. I'll have to catch up with you at BBW before you move.

Moving to Sandwich in 2 weeks...you'll have to ...

find those bumpers. Sunny and 28 right now. Better go easy on the corners today with the summer tires.

    That's pretty impressive, my son-in-law has a G35(

that I drove around for a day when we were in Albuquerque back in October. I was impressed how quick it was for a V6 auto. I was also on a deserted road miles from no where, just like you Vin. The G37 is suppose to be even faster.

Not doubting but I have a G37 and quite frankly...

I think it's faster than my 540. I think the person driving the G didn't quite know how to drive. And an occasional battle on a desolate rd. has probably happened to most.

Ok, I get it, I'm gonna take heat for this post...

It's not something I'm in the habit of doing...it was on a desolate road upstate, we were the only ones out there, but nevertheless, in retrospect...I guess it was a lapse in judgment.
