    This car has an M20B25 engine (not a SuperETA) and would have come with a 153 DME. As far as I know, performance chips have never been available for that DME.

    Which temp sensor did you change? There are two, one for the gauge and one for the DME. If in stock configuration the DME temp sensor will be underneath the gauge sensor.

    Spraying carb cleaner (or similar) will work for leaks around the intake, but there are a number of other places where that won't work. The only sure way to locate intake leaks is to have a smoke test run.

    87 325is

    I have a burning rich cold problem I can not find what is wrong. I have sprayed the entire engine looking for vacuum leak, none. I have changed the coolant temp sensor. Now I'am looking into the performance chip. This engine is listed in real OEM to to be the super ETA (valve size anyway) what ECU is supposed to be in this car? It has the 153 ECU in it now. I was told that a chip is not made for that engine. It was chipped (told)when I bought car. Now I think that could be the rich burning at cold start. won't idle and smokes until warm up. Anyone know some of these answers? Thanks
