Re: Coolant smell in cabin check heater valve in engine compartment. Perhaps leaking there too. Much easier (on a relative basis) than heater core.

Re: Usually not good Many times indicates a heater core leak and that's a laborious job. Feel around down in the footwells for any kind of wetness, if so, not good.

Coolant smell in cabin 95 convert, ocassionally getting coolant smell in the cabin. No rhyme or reason, lasts 15-20 seconds then goes away. Very stong but thankfully doesn't last long. Ideas? Jb
