That's pathetic ... ... your backup lights are brighter then the HEADLIGHTS on my 99 Pontiac Grand Prix ;-) Very Nice!

Wow! Very impressive...the amount of snow looks like my yard last February! Oh yea, nice light work to. You can keep all the snow, we have had on the ground since Dec 2 and more predicted tonight, although we have not been hit anything like you guys on the east coast. Re: The answer (m) Now, if you hook up some large infrared lights, you can melt the snow on your driveway while you are backing out of the garage. Oh, wait. I forgot. You don't take the 540 out in the snow. Maybe you could add this mod to your winter beater?

The answer (m) I had been wondering just how good they would be so after reading you post I figured a little cold air wouldn't hurt my car too much. This is just with the reverse light on, no other light. Of course all the white stuff does help. More snow coming this Sat.

Nice mod. Now the real question. If you open the garage door and turn it on, can it be seen through 3 feet of snow. Thanks, but I did have to make a correction (m) Somehow I measured wrong and both of the side compartment covers didn't quite clear the ballasts. I made a slight mounting change which allowed me to clean up the wiring too.

As long as yours aren't the headlights that won't( open then these should be OK. I also got my front smoked covers from ebay. I just didn't like the egg yoke turn signals. I replaced the front side markers too. If you get new front covers you should also get Xpel film to put on them. They really do a great job and keep the lenses pit free. My original covers after 60K miles looked like crap, all pitted, but not cloudy. I put Xpel on them and they looked almost new. The clear adhesive filled in most of the pits. When I got the smoked covers I put Xpel on them before I left the garage. These have 70K on them and they look 98% new. http://www.autosportcatalog.com/xpel...protection.cfm

Great mod Jim. I have a Lexus RX300 with backup > lights that should only be used in bright daylight. Otherwise, you may as well have a white cane sticking from the rear bumper to "feel" your way as you back up in the dark. My E39 has the best backup lights I've ever had on any vehicle. But, as you can attest, there is always room for improvement. As usual, another flawless mod. Nicely done. Got them on ebay a long time ago (m) The quality is actually very good, exact fitment. There was a sticker on them, made in Taiwan. IIRC the pair was about $100, I see them now going for ~$60. I still have the original Hella lights if that makes you feel better...LOL

Think I got it in the early '80's. Back then we (m Only needed to have a rear plate (MA was trying to save $$ by going to 1 plate). It looks pretty beat now, I can't get a replacement. The registry said my choices are keep it or get new plates, front and back. I'll keep it, a front plate does nothing for the looks of most cars.
