Re: And another thing..........Manual trans issue? Even if you replace it with stock fluids you should see an improvement which will eventually degrade again. Hard shifting BMW transmissions are nothing new and there in fact isn't anything "wrong" with them if you take out the annoyance factor.

I've had Turner Motorsport change my diff and trans fluid twice already (75K miles and 140K miles) and each time I marvel at how much smoother and easier the car shifts. I believe they use Redline fluids, which I have been very happy with. At the first change, I had the 5th gear return spring problem and I really didn't want anyone to have to open my tranny. The problem was manifest primarily in cold temps when the car had not been driven. Upon shifting into 5th gear, the shift lever would stick there and not return to the neutral position between gears 3-4. After the fluid change, it took about a week and a half and I haven't had the problem since. best dd
And another thing..........Manual trans issue? Manual transmission seems to be very balky lately. Hard to put in gear.Reverse is exceptionally difficult, more so in cold temps.
