There really is little difference between the M60 and the M70 i assume that maybe why the M73 came along since the M62 may have started to eclipse the M70 in performance

m60 286hp 400nm M70 295hp 450nm
a little less performance but it is not a yawning gap coupled with less weight and better fuel economy it does make some sense although i think an M70 with about 350hp would have been better and an M or csi model with 450hp even more sense
