Really sorry to hear the reality, although your

detailed explanation did give some real world insight into how the economy affects things. I'd bet it would be tough to give up that 335i. Must be one sweet car to drive with all that extra power over the e46 and the improved suspension.

The biggest reason is financial...with the

wife's medical care and son's tuition going way up while my income has literally been cut in half for the last two years we've been forced to make some lifestyle adjustments. I've got to make adjustment NOW because I'm in the business of supplying trim and finish for high-end new home construction and that market will be VERY slow to respond to any improvement in the economy...probably the last thing to come around.
We're making lots of subtle changes and a few big ones in order to stay ahead. If fuel goes through the roof I'll be way ahead with the diesel Golf. Additionally, with what equity I've got in the BMW plus a few $K I'll be free of car payments for the first time in 20+ years...Whoohoo!
