Took both cars out yesterday, the 84 is running great, plenty of power, no smoke/steam from exhaust, oil still looks good. I'm starting to think that the oil is leftover from the head job as there appears to be copper flecks in the oil. That would be from the Quik Seal I used before when I was having head problems. Still going to check the torque on the head bolts but I'm leaning towards having the cooling system flushed out really well.
Oil in the coolant,,,going to recheck the torque on the head bolts and go from there.
Idle test went well, got up to about 11 oclock on the temp guage and stayed there, still need to finish bleeding her out... All that work on the engine, damn glad that she's Ok!
Took a few hours to swap out radiators yesterday,,,fairly easy job. Hehe,,,don't take the plastic twisty inserts out of the radiator, they are there to slow down the coolant. So far, so good, ran a bit short on fluids so I'll have to wait for an idle test till tomorrow...

Letting the 633 idle yesterday,,,hear the dog barking, went out to see steam everywhere, temp guage pegged and warning light on. The radiator had broken at the upper hose,,,one of things I had not replaced since I got the car in 2003. I think its Ok tho, I slowly poure some coolent into the upper hose, not much as I didn't have much pre mix on hand,,damn hot and lots of steam, let her cool down and she did start right up. Oil looks good too,,,def dodged a bullet! Had I come out to a seized engine I would have sent her on her way...JOeG
