I am running Axxis Ultimates on the street and

Cobalt Friction Spec GT VR fronts on the track, E36 M3. The Cobalt's are the loudest pad I have ever come across and have to be VERY hot to work. The plus is they did NOT fade after four continuous 40 minute sessions. The minus is they will EAT rotors for lunch, especially when cold. They were also very growly after only one day at the track and I bed them in as per Cobalt's instructions.

Honestly I am not sure if I will use them again. Might try some Hawk's next time out but the Axxix Ultimates in the back are fine.

    Re: Brake pads?

I also track my car maybe twice a year and I recently switched to Axxis Ultimates. They worked great for me, less fade than OEM, less dust than OEM and no squealing on the street. To get more information on the pad go to He has done road racing in the past I think he can be of help.<br>

I highly recommend HP plus for track .....

schools and on the street is ok - I had some squeeling - but after a weekend of hard braking at CA speedway, its gone ! - U can also use CRC syn brake caliper greae on cantat points to help - I use em on E46 M3.

Re: thanks. any pros and cons?

    Pros would be better braking.
Cons would be some squeeling if any and some dusting, but was told that the above pads dust less than stock pads.

As for pagids, i only have experience with the Pagid Orange (full race pads)

    Brake pads?

    Hey guys,

What pads are you guys using at the track?

I drive a 2001 M3 and my track days are only 2wice a year. I'm looking for some pads that have better endurance than stocks but are friendly enough for everyday driving.
