Good Analysis
It was risky to come into this season w/ an all new concept & declaring yourself challengers to the throne. If they hit the mark, they are heroes & if the ymissed, like currently, they are zeroes. I think that this season will b a learning xperience on what 27 will be. Just like Mac, Williams has used this season as a test for next year's car. I believe that with all the talen that they have & the reorg, I think next year will really tell if this was just a hickup year only. btw, I think the addl weight that every1 says the tusks have added was deem livable by the design team because the Michelin like forward weighted balanced setup. I think Michelin hasn't provided the right tires for the 26 design as much as the 26 hasn't been as easily tunable. So While Williams may miss some of the ballast set opportunites that Ferrari was expericning last year w/ the 2003, I think Michelin has not taken a step forward for Williams this year...IMO

McLaren Tech Center vs. Williams\' 2nd wind tunnel. I think PH's demotion is justified, FW26 has been very disapointing. While SM might have made a mistake on the brake duct, but it was a conscious effort/gamble to make the FW26 faster. PH does not (I suspect) till now have a clue why the FW26 design doesn't work in race trim. Frank has compartmentalize the issues, so now designer can focus on designs. Just like Rory Byrne of the red team.

Back end analysis Interesting observation. I still remember SM explanation after Spanish Grand Prix on Montoya dropping out..."we set the brakes up wrong" You only test at this track 60% of the time, and you don't how to set the brakes up? Keep tuned for more SM race day set-ups FW27 is the hope, because the FW26 isn't the answer. But hey, we can win the bragging rights from Mercedes can't we?

Good & bad?? I think this will free up PH to do what he's best @...engineering. However, I've never been impressed yet w/ SM's game management. Hopefully, he will rise to the occasion & the FW27 takes him there. I sitll think, it's the back end that's giving them trouble. IT's just tooo wide.

Promoted to "Director of Engineering" Yikes....Sam Michaels assumes Patrick responsibilities....of Technical director...Michaels is the one who admitted at Spain he set up the brakes wrong!!! good grief!!!! Yahoo Sports (UK Ireland) has a very detailed explanation along with details of the wind tunnel being developed which sounds amazing... JPM/RS will not be around to see the benefits of theis new wind tunnel for the FW27 next season. http://uk.sports.yahoo.com/040525/13/40s6.html

Patrick Head out as Technical Director F1 live reports that Head is out as Technical director at Williams. Lousy season-to-date performance mandates changes? Oh, yeah. Manadated by BMW? Probably - Pat and Sir Frank go way back. Will this change save this season for BMW Williams? No. Jack 2000 528i 2002 X5 4.4
