sorry for late response, but just use the original oil filter housing and remove the entire oil-filter housing from the engine block. it's easy and it only requires removing four bolts. the tricky part is navagating the housing up through the power steering hoses and stuff. once out of the car, it simplifies the disassembly. i have been doing this for years. if you need another oil-filter housing, i would imagine most pick-n-pulls and/or recycling yards would have the original oil-filter housing or just post an ad on roadfly. marko
sorry for late response, but just use the original
Re: '72 Bavaria filter prob; Can anybody here help? Just hit a junkyard, get a top-bolt canister from an e12. Probably be $10 or so. Tony
Re: '72 Bavaria filter prob; Can anybody here help? There used to be a kit to convert it to a spinon type I have one on my 783 but doubt if it is sold any more. You can use the setup from a 530 or 528i which is little easier to change.
'72 Bavaria filter prob; Can anybody here help? It uses the old canister setup, but the PO screwed it up; is there any way to convert it to the modern (disposable)type?
