X-Type is a Mondeo which is crap

Most people I knew that had Mondeos were less than impressed with them.

The Jag got lucky with the weather. I wonder how bad it would have been without the soft winter that we've had so far. To be fair I must add that one of my first cars was English, a 1968 Austin Mini. It was as reliable as a stone and a pure delight to drive in the winter at least until the snow got too deep for the poor little guy and it turned from automobile into sled and the driver morphed from pilot into passenger.

Man oh man. I hear ya. British cars will always kick you in the [Oops!]. Atleast with BMW's you sort them out and they stay sorted for a very LONG time. I feel for you Bruce. But I will be sorting my E28 M5 this spring and Im sure my wallet and I will do some crying.....

    just to share the misery

ventured to my first non BMW winter car - got an off warranty '02 Jag X-Type.... cheap, figured it would be good to drive for the winter.. then sell in the spring.
But what a piece of crap.. never ever working 100%
every old bmw problem now seems like a dream
suppliers, shops, dealers... all aspects of ownership SUCK with the JAG.
most recently the RF wheel bearing failed. it was replaced 11 months ago AT A JAG Dealer by the one and only previous and original owner.
Jag flatly refuses to honour a 1 year part warranty.
