Re: Windshield - leaks and lower trim fit poor

My windshield has had a crack in it for about 5 years, and with 150k miles is very pitted, but I'm deathly afraid of getting it replaced with all the horror stories I read about it.

Has ANYBODY had a good replacement windshield story?

Windshield - leaks and lower trim fit poor

One of our members over here in GB has tried on several occasions to get his windshield sorted out to no avail - new windshield, all parts ex-BMW dealer. The dealer called in a specialist...still no good, guess everyone is used to bonded windshields these days!

Problem is, lower metal trim (the car has satin black chrome but this should make no difference) seems to have insufficient curvature to engage properly in seal at both ends. This tends to lift out the corner "L" pieces from the seal.

The screen is leaking - not good.

Anyone have experience of this and how to fix it?

    Any help much appreciated!
