thanks for the advice-the reminder just went on this morning and i will definetly try that method-sure beats paying someone to do it

Here are the instructions. I used them on my 2001 325I and they worked just fine.
1. The ignition key must be in the off position
2. Press and hold the trip odometer button and the ignition key to the accessory position.
3. Keep the thge button pressed for approximately 5 more seconds until any of the following words appear in the display "Oil Service", or "Inspection".
4. Press the button again and hold for approximately 5 seconds until the words "reset" or "re" flash.
5. While the display is flashing, press the button briefly to reset the service interval.
6. After the display has shown the new interval the following will appear in the display for approximately 2 seconds "END SIA"

You must wait approximately 50 - 75 miles before attempting to reset the system again.

He might do it for nothing. Mine did for my last car. It can be done in about 2 minutes.

What is "unreasonable", you cant do it

Resetting Oil Service

I have a 2003 325i series that I changed the oil and filter. The problem is how to reset the "oil service" display back to zero. Otherwise, I will be held captive by the dealership to reset display and charge unreasonable cost.
