I face this same question as I just got Goodyear F1 Asymetrics from TireRack in sizes 245/40-18 and 265/40-18 for my E46M3. I know 265/35-18 rears is more typical for the E46, but I do not have lowered suspension (have replaced the typical broken rear stock springs)and it should result in more accurate speedo and odo readings. It also matches the stock sizes for the E90 M3. I have liked the Michelins very much, but the Goodyears are highly rated and much less $.

With stock tires on both my E36 and E46M3's I ran 35PSI front and 32 PSI rear to balance tire wear Note the stock settings of 33PSI front and 36PSI rear wore the outer and inner edges of the fronts and the center of the rears the most.

I'll probably start at 35PSI front and rear and adjust based on tire wear.

I have Toyo upsized and run at 36s all around

But I just settled on that after driving around and watching tread wear over a few weeks.

Inflation Pressure for Upsized Tires

Just got some new PS2's. Owner's manual doesn't list recommended pressures for new tire sizes. I got 275/35/18 rear and 245/40/18 front. They came from Tire Rack at about 34 PSI all the way around. That seems low.
