    The only way to tell for sure is to pull the head. A quick check would be to take the valve cover off and turn the motor by hand (big wrench on the crank nut). Watch the valves actuate. Bent valves will stick in the valve guides.

    well the car was running when the timing belt broke so i want to find out if i should part the car out or if the valves are ok then i am willing to spend the money to get the timing belt/chain fixed

    timing chain

    got an e30 with too much money in it and now my timing chain has gone out, need to find out weather or not i should be worried about my valves, or if the clearances are enough that i can just get the chain fixed and be ok
