Ken,

I am experiencing the same codes and have changed the same things you have changed except the MAF. I've inspected the intake boots before to find no cracks. I'll just replace them anyway this weekend to see if that helps. hoping to discover a crack on the underside of the boots or somewhere obscure.

Defective aftermarket MAF...

After replacing the MAF sensor and the intake boot this past June, the P1188/9 codes popped up again about a month ago. I was experiencing very rough cold idling and bad hesitation from a dead start. So after replacement of the pre-cat O2 sensors, valve cover gasket and CVV didn't resolve the problems, this past weekend just for yucks I put back in my old MAF sensor and voila problems resolved. Made about a dozen around town trips with no hesitation whatsoever, and no cold start idling problem.

So my original problem back in June turns out to have been just the cracked intake boot.

The replacement MAF was an aftermarket eBay purchase.

Just wanted to pass this along to everyone.
