I had to buy new shocks and wait for a credit.
My local parts supplier sent the bad shocks to Bilstein for evaluation. Once evaluated I would get a credit for the new shocks I just bought. Fair enough.
But it look a very long time (many months) because the parts store is run by idiots. They lost my old shocks. The sales guy I gave them to left the comopany, and then they said I never brought in the old ones. When I became agitated they "found my old shocks behind a pile of boxes". I did get my credit eventually. I don't blame Bilstein. I would buy Bilsteins again but I will NEVER go back to that parts store. LESSON LEARNED: ALWAYS GET A WRITTEN RECEIPT WHEN LEAVING THE OLD PARTS WITH THE PARTS GUY.
It's too bad. I was supporting a local store and didn't mind paying a bit more. Now I get most parts online.
