I have one that I just removed from my 540. It may

sound strange but I'm not audiophile (other than screaming engine sound). I'm on the quest for losing the curb weight. Amplifier was in good working condition before I removed it.
    E-mail me if you're interested.

I have a DSP amplifier available. If you're interested e-mail me. Don't know price but I'll see what's on the market and offer it accordingly.

Had the same problem in 2002 or 2003

I had the exact same problem with the battery discharging because the amplifier (non-dsp) remained on. The clue was it was warm hours after the car was shut down. The BMW dealer replaced it under warranty. I bought a second amp from an ePrey seller; back then, they appeared regularly on ePrey because E39 owners were having custom stereo systems installed.

    German Audio Tech

I bought a radio MID from him a year or so ago and it was exactly as shown in the pics since each item has a picture of the actual unit for sale. He takes a lot of pride in his eBay 99.5% approval rating. You can email him at: [email protected] You won't be disappointed.

I emailed him and he said he could help you with your sound system amplifier.

    Hope this helps.

Check this source for one (m)

Don't know if either of you have the standard amp or DSP, however Dan may have what you need.

drain on battery solved - amplifier, not module -m

My electrical system had a constant draw which was draining the battery. Dealer ruled out FSU and thought it was the control module. But after further checks, it turned out that the sound system amplifier was the source of the constant drain.

Anyone know of an inexpensive source for a replacement for the amp? List is over $1300.John
