While vincefl is correct is saying BMW will not cover anything after warranty there is the occasional "goodwill" fix that BMW dealers will do. A lot depends on circumstances such as previously reported and attempted fix with no fault found history. And a fact filled non-emotional written request to the service manager often helps seal the deal. I had three of those over the life of my 645. But not much else is available. I did 112k miles before totaling car and no costly issues arose after my 100k end to maintenance and warranty. But the fact that there are plenty of areas for costly repairs in these complex vehicles is certainly there.

Make sure you have reported everything you suspect to be wrong and have it checked by your dealer. At least will have been recorded.

    Good luck

Re: Advice: BMW won't makes no exceptions...

Independent found THOUSANDS of dollars worth of repairs I will be taking to BMW dealer this Friday. From gasket leaks, to defective alarm when they ran a test plan, and a few others.

Keep in mind, my car was just serviced in December and they failed to find any of these obvious issues. I bet if I took my car in after the warranty expires they would find them.

    They are pathetic.

Advice: BMW won't makes no exceptions...

Dealer won't cover a thing a day after the warranty expires (in my experience). Found this out the hard way by taking my car for break fluid change 3 days late. I think that sucks of BMW not to extend service in situations like this. Cadillac fixed an issue with my truck 2 and a half weeks after its warranty expired with out a hassle.

Good idea to stay on top of it and get them to service as much as possible!

645ci CPO warranty ending soon. Looking for advice

I have a 2005 645ci w/ both CPO extended warranty and extended maintenance.

They both end of Feb 25 2011.

    Car has around 70k miles.

I have my car scheduled to go into dealer on Feb 4th to take care of an oil leak.

I have also scheduled to have my car inspected by an independent who works on BMWs to make a list of issue they find. This is scheduled for Feb 1st.

Is there any other advice you would recommend prior to my warranty and maintenance ending? Can I request an Inspection I or II using my maintenance program from the dealer?

It seems like the next visit after the warranty is up is when they start finding problems.
