    Re: Overwheling fuel odor

Thanks for all the advice. It was the fuel line to the Cold Start Injector. PITA to change but I did find a few other hoses(vacuum) that I need to change. The hose form the intake to the CSV resembles petrified wood. I could probably use it as a weapon. LOL

Could be a leaky fuel injector

Check your breather hoses under the fuel tank neck cover. Those fuel lines go unlooked most of the time, and can fill the cabin with the smell of fuel especially when you fill up.

    Hose to CSV

Notorious for rupturing at the six position, usually the first start of the day. There's enough fuel to run down the intake side of the engine. This must be addressed immediately. I wish there was a stainless steel braided line to replace the high pressure fuel line.

Check the line that goes from the fuel rail

to the cold start valve,,,if you've never replaced it, its def suspect. Tends to sorta self seal itself once the car gets warmed up so it can be hard to pinpoint...

try looking at the lines with the key in the "on" position so the fuel pump is running. A lot of fuel leaks evaporate faster than you can see them so you might have better luck with the fuel pump running....

    Overwheling fuel odor

The last couple times I have driven my car (86' 635), I have noticed an overwhelming fuel odor. I have checked all my fuel lines for cracks and leaks, none found. The odor seems to be coming from under the hood, but I can't locate any leaks. Any suggestions??
