Re: PTG to take over factory 07 Panoz GT2 ALMS program
It was rumored to be coming, and it turns out to be true.
I am glad that PTG has a way to keep the team working for this year. It will hopefully put them in a better position for next year when they will hopefully have the E92 M3 V8 :)
I am also glad that Bill Auberlen will be driving in ALMS. If you give him a reasonably competitive car, he will do wonders with it. I think the Panoz is much better sorted now than it was when he last drove it. I hope to see him on the podium more this year.
But, and this is a big but, the Ferraris were way fast last year. It will be tougher now with PWL switching to Ferrari and the Rissi car (and possibly a second) out there.
It will be interesting to see how the new Porsche 997's shake out this year too.
*sigh* But I will certainly miss seeing the M3 out there. I guess I will be watching a lot of GAC this year and rooting for the Turner guys.
