Call the court and inquire about deferred adjudication (probation). If they don't offer that then defensive driving should be an option. If you don't want to take DD then call a local ticket atty (James Mallory or Randall Scott) and ask for a referral to an atty for that county.

I am working a ticket now also. I was on I-10 west bound to Houston. West of Beaumont where I-10 goes to 3 lanes, the speed drops to 65 MPH. I was stopped for 73 in a 65.
