I wonder how insurance will work out
his "fault?" Track event coverage...?
Ouch either way...
Pretty lame if there's no hot pit wall
true, and I guess a lesson in imagining the
because for the life of me I cannot imagine how this accident could have ever happened. As I said it was out of a slow corner...50mph I would guess... he probably hit at over 40 mph about 300 yards after the corner after apparently running off the track twice and spinning...in a bone dry day. I think he thought he was Colin McRae and he was going to save it because he must have never lifted at all.
For sure the cars are never going to be staged there again.
This was on the East course at Pocono Raceway.

I was talking to the driver of the evo.. no remorse.. didnt really care.. He was clueless.. it was an 2005 Evo MR, 1998 NSX and a 04 G35..
Really? I thought I saw him crying like a girl
guy in his 20's, short hair, gray or brownish tee shirt?
Those things get REAL light in the front end
under acceleration. It's almost scary!
Friend just got a new one - chipped it, slapped on a new exhaust and fuel pump. For less than $2500 of goodies the damn things puts down 350hp and 348 lb/ft torque. It'll pull on a stock E46 - probably a modified one.
I blew an 04 M3 Coupe engine. Where's my 100k engine warranty? Buy my Sirius receiver for Nav or my iceLink for Sirius & Nav. How about a StealthOne? RRT brake ducts? M3 trunk mat? All like new.
looks like he dropped a tire off on the left and
hooked back to the right.
This is why I don't do HPDEs
I swear, HPDEs are a LOT more dangerous than races.
1) Why were those cars parked where a car on track could easily reach them?
2) Why did the driver of the car with the camera pull over where HE could also be hit?
Yes, accidents happen. But putting cars or people in the line of fire of errant cars on track ... I would have never run in that event. I would certainly never have parked my car in that line. I've seen too many things happen.
whoa...parking right next to track?
what PATHETIC organization & staging! >>>
Whoever put that set-up together should be shot.
And shame on the instructors for not seeing the inherent danger in that arrangement.
I liked it when the chick instructor kept saying "tight tight tight" though. HOT!!!
Pretty damned moronic, eh?
She looks good in profile, too
I have never been to an HPDE that has allowed
What, were they showing off their cars to the drivers on the track, hoping to score an appearance in some in car footage? I hope this kind of sh&t does not ruin these events for the rest of us.
