Craigslist found me a Turnpike Car, made in the mid-60's and used in amusement parks for decades.
It is a bit of challenge. There are no restoration books, suppliers, or Roadfly boards.

Could it be your go cart lighting parts are from other cars/trucks of the era. The Mercury's car unique feature is the back window rolls down for breeze thru ventilation.
