Is there a way to permanently set up day time running lights other than setting the light switch to that position? The manual has a procedure but I can seem to get it to work. I don't have all of the menus shown in the manual. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I have iDrive and it is easily set thru iDrive (manual, p.91).
If you don't have iDrive, have you tried it with the ignition on but without the car moving - or, perhaps with the motor off? The manual indicates that certain settings available thru the OBC can't be set while driving (p.60), so that might explain why the appliccable menu isn't shown.

If you don't have iDrive you can set it on the left had side select stick that resets the tire monotoring, auto locking of the doors...
