hey wondering if i could get some help figuring out this problem, i have a 83 733i manual.the motor runs smooth for the most part but there is a heavy smell of unburned gas, and it has a hard time reving past 4000 rpm, seems to be down on power as well.Just wondering what would be the best things to start checking first. thanks all.

If you smell fuel, there is likely a fuel leak somewhere. I had a small rack on the return fuel line that you couldn't see, but when the fuel pump was running, it spit out a large volume of fuel into the engine compartment.
Start up the engine and ope the hood. You'll probably find it quickly.
