navigation screen removal

I have 97 540i with a MK4 navigation system in it. I had converted it from MK1 to MK4 back in 2005. Now that I want to sell the car I can’t remember or figure out how to get the screen unit out of the car. Remove 2 little screws on the upper corners and that frees up the top but the bottom of the unit I can’t get loose. Those spring clamp things on each side don’t seem to help much when I do left them up. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I tried posting to the E39 forum without any luck. Since the navigation is a 2005 unit I figured I might try this forum. I believe my current navigation system is the same used in your cars.

You need to try the e46 board. Your system is not the same as in an e60.
