Has anyone here ever had a fuse link (that's probably not the right term for them) in the fuse box go bad?
I had to solder a wire from a fuse link to one of the two auxiliary links just outside the box a few years back on a 87 535i. I remember soldering a wire onto 'one' of the prongs (the unsprung one?), then drilling a hole in the clear plastic cover, and running the wire to one of the auxiliary fuse links, and soldering it or attaching it there. Problem solved.
Now my daily driver is blowing a 8 amp fuse repeatedly, and I need to do the operation again.
Can anyone refresh my memory on how to do it? Or remind me of considerations that I've forgotten?
