Bad CPS causes tarnsmission issues.
Was leaving the butcher shop Saturday, and the car didn't want to fire on the first crank, which is unusual. Nor did it fire on the second try. Third time, it started sort of roughly, smoothed out, then the transmission warning light kicks on and the car shifts like a bad SMG car. Freaked, I pulled over, turned it off, and called the dealer. When I restarted to take it in, all seemed fine. Turns out the Crank Position Sensor was going south, and caused a small stroke in the ECU, prompting the transmission weirdness. Thank God for maintenance warranty, as $58 later I was rolling again.

$58 is breaking the bank in your house?
I'm not thinking the insurance for this amount is wise?
No, that's what I paid instead of $500.
You have been to a BMW dealer, right? ;-) My CPO also included maintenance through Jan. 2011, so the $50 deductible is all I have to pay for most any repairs. Beats the sheet out of $500, wouldn't you agree?

Paid for BMW service, yes; but never had anything
to do with CPO.
Sounds like you're getting a nice chunk of your premium back already.
Be a great deal if I didn't do my own work
