More damage and a question about front bumper
When changing the oil this weekend and cleaning the car I noticed a fairly nice hole in my front bumper just below the black rub strip and the drivers side driving lamp is cracked. From the surprise dumped on me a week ago.
I have repaired this dang bumper for the last time and just dont want to repair and paint this thing again.
I know someone here has had good luck with non oem msport front bumpers...read as inexpensively as posible but with good fit and finish. Or is it better to gop with the oem msport nose from the 2003?
Looked on eBay and there is a mind bogling number of people seeling bumper covers for the e39 and they all say best fit and finish and range from 250.00 inc shipping up to 500.00 inc shipping.
I have read some horror stories about fit and when I searched front bumper GAZILLIONS of hits came up here on Roadfly and I am attempting to take a little short cut here with more direct feedback from soem of you who have done it.
I have no problem setting it up, painting, and installing it myself.
Thanks in advance

I have been toying with the idea of upgrading to
a replica M front bumper, as it makes the car so much better looking. Someone on this board posted this link a few weeks ago and said they bought one and the fit was perfect.

I've heard a few stories about replica bumpers...
being made from substandard material which makes them prone to cracking very easily...especially, if you have to park in a city where people tend to ping pong themselves into a space.
Just something to consider before you decide to purchase one.

Vin, I like the addition to your sig, especially (
the horsepower line.

Thanks! Not sure where I first heard that one...
or who originally said it, but I've always liked it...it's kind of like the Gearhead's Credo...LOL.
Saw another funny one on one of the other forums last week...
"Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of your car,
Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of your car,
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, and Torque is how far you take the wall with you."
