Front cover is a time consuming job on a M44.
Not out of line price wise.

I've always trusted these guys but I've been more hands on in the past so less trust was necessary.....sigh......thanks......
Okay, silly question I suppose, but why would
the front timing cover need to be resealed? Is there motor oil in there?

Yes there is oil in there to lub the timing chain.

Okay, next silly question...
Is the timing chain oil part of the engine oil system, so that when you change the engine oil you're also changing the oil that lubes the timing chain, or does it have its own special oil/system?

Thx all...$1,807 inclu radiator and w/pump
I thought my place was good, Hans Foreign Car Service in San Diego, but now I'm even more convinced. Upon teardown the radiator could be seen to be leaking and the waterpump was frozen in place so $1,807 with a new radiator and water pump. Thanks again to Mike and Mike at Hans in San Diego
