835 to the wheels on a small turbo running E85, love my car!!
garage. Good day of playing hooky, Dec '06, I think. Drove around Indy in the early morning playing with the new D80.

I have an idea of an asking price but not sure how realistic that is. We'll see. Maybe job interview this coming week will offer better than what I have now and I won't have to sell :)

To get that power to the ground and what sizes? I have trouble getting 534 to the ground so you must really have a hard time. I'm going to switch to either Pilot Sport N-Spec or Toyo R888s next.

10 or 12 years ago, I helped a friend build a 1200hp version, with monster turbo. It was utterly undrivable, and honestly, the power was stupid. It had no power under 4k, a little power between 4 and 5k, and crazy power to redline, then shift back into the no power band. Dyno queen. That same car, reborn a year later, had a much fatter torque curve. Topped out at around 785hp, but made power from 3200 up. It was a much faster car, even with almost half the peek hp. I like to think of that car as my motoring maturity event. That was when I really learned about fast cars. It was also when I decided to buy my M3 instead of a Corvette. Fat torque curves became my obsession.
I use the Toyo r888 and love them! I have no problem putting all of the power to the ground. But I am using gear based boost control so it really helps with traction.
Oh I fully understand your statement!
I've stuck with 800hp max over the years for the very reasons you point out. I run a relative small turbo and I've built a 3.4 ltr stroker to help lower the power band.
I dont have the dyno handy but from about 3500 on I have very usable tq thanks to the small turbo and larger stroked engine! You are also spot on, I can easily take out 1200hp supra's for the first mile, after that they have enough time to close the gap albeit not enough to ever pass me!
I now remember who you are from ~5 years ago from the regular E39 forum.
Pure sex B!
I miss my white MC once a week!
Mine are 305/30/19 and I will probably stay with that size if I change to the R888s, or go with 325/30 in the Pilot Sports N-specs. How wide can you go on the Supra?

I'm running a 295/30/19 on the rear using a 19x11 Hre wheel when on my street wheels. I also have the black set of wheels where Im using the same tire but with a 305/35/18.

That you can get that power down with tires in that size. I hear the R888s are really sticky, though.

You are supercharging 500+, he is turbo. Might be more overall power, eventually, but the power bands are night and day different. Plus is sounds like he is tuned with variable boost on spool up to smooth out the power delivery. It robs a little bit of torque lower down, but you make up for it in control-ability. Otherwise once that beast get's on boost you loose traction through 3rd gear, easy.
Gear based boost is whats so helpful for putting down the power.
Second gear I'll get 16 psi, about 550hp, third gear I'll get about 26psi or about 700hp, and 4th on full 31psi and a tad over 830hp. Works very well. New development in aftermarket ECU's has been great and soon I will have full traction control where I can put as much power as the car will take until traction is an issue.
The car will trap right at 150mph as it sits now.
