Any suggestions about a BMW Neue Klasse parts supplier in UK?

Hi Nassos, welcome to the same problem I'm now facing! It depends what you're looking for-many mechanical parts can be sourced from Jaymic (or your local BMW dealer, believe it or not)& some are shared with the'02's. Body panels & trim are another matter! Some panels are now re-manufactured by BMW Mobile Tradition, but cost is very high-$655 +vat for a front wing anyone? There isn't anyone in the UK who specialises in these cars, there just aren't enough of them left! Which car have you got & what do you need?! Feel free to mail me.
Hi guys, I am redoing the motor on my 2000ti and in looking at the shop manual it implies that the TI headgasket is special and not exactly as the stock engine. The old gasket does not seem that special and the guys at Maximilian feel that unless it's a turbo the stock will be ok. Any thoughts? In particulat you Tim as you just redid your motor so you would have fresh info.
Why am I redoing the motor? Slight knock when first starting, before the pump builds pressure and more speed and more speed again! I want to see the needle pegged at 200Km/h
Thanks
Dorien
My 1971 Parts Book indicates the TI gasket # is 11 12 1 251 512. Should be the same as 2002 tii.
Dorien, the current part number according to BMW EPC is 11.12.1.734.279 for the standard gasket-this also fits the '02tii, and some 4 cylinder E12/E21/E30's. There is a +0.3mm gasket available if you mill the head, 11.12.1.734.280
Andy
Dorien,
I could check with Mark Kling, the guy that rebuilt the motor of my '69 2000; I would think Matt at Maximillian would have a good handle on what you need and it sounds like Andy is right too. You can always call Carl over at La Jolla Independent (800-466-8184) if still in doubt, he really knows Neue Klasse cars throughout and can give you a definite answer on the head gasket. Man, it is bitter cold out here, high today and tomorrow of only 8 degrees, lows about 5 below zero, the 2000 just has to wait a while for another drive.

Thanks guys for the input. I have dug into my stash of parts and have some of the goods. Will order the bearings rings and a chain + some valve seals, shake them around and call it a day! Should be ready by month end. Problem is that Tim keeps on reminding me of the temp so I will have nowhere to drive it. You guys on the West coast can't appreciate the convenience of having your tools stick to your hands! No fear of droping them right Tim?
Dorien
high today may reach 8 degrees but a heat wave tomorrow, in the 20's!! it is sunny out though, just finished walking my chocolate labrador around one of the college campuses around here (St. John Fisher College), nice hot cup of coffee in one hand. Well, sounds like you're set, your engine will be much happier Dorien. It was 61 degrees a week ago today and I had the 2000 out, oh well, a few more weeks..keep your hands warm if you're working on the car outside Dorien,
